Uniontown Bar and Grill is a trendy neighborhood bar that could be located in Adams Morgan or U Street. However this gem is located in the historic Anacostia neighborhood. And when I visited last night it already appears that its been a hit with locals. Everyone seemed to know each other and ask about each other families. The crowd was mainly groups of guys and girls having a night out with friends.
Happy Hour specials are offered Monday – Friday from 4-7pm. The food menu is mainly general bar appetizers, soups, salads, and sandwiches.  I did see a sign that said there was a Saturday brunch option being offered.
I tried the wings which were excellent! The wings were crispy Louisiana style with a couple sauces so you could dip them your self.  They were juicy, tender, and very meaty!!
I also had the catfish fingers. I thought they were good. Lightly breaded and not over fried. I did think the portion size was kind of small.
And the best part of the bar was the bartender Chris. The bar was packed and everyone seemed to know his name but Chris was able to attend to everyone in a timely manner. Drinks had cute DC themed names like the “Green Line†and Le’fant Plazaâ€.
I enjoyed my evening and will return to Uniontown. From what I hear I need to return and try the crab dip and the liquor infused cupcakes!!
